About Us

In 1914, William Stein opened William’s Jewellers. Stein sold the business to RJ Mindon in 1934. Soon after, Elvard Turcotte took over and ran the business until 1959, when he sold it to his son-in-law Keith Lichty. After the passing of Keith in 2020, his children, Kathy and Keith Jr, have since taken over the business.

Williams Jewellers has always been located in the downtown core of St. Catharines. However, many people knew the business when it was located on St. Paul street. Now located at 38 James Street, it offers a wide selection of jewellery from gold, pearls, sterling silver and fashion jewellery.

Williams prides itself on quality jewellery and its extensive repair business. At Williams, we have always offered our jewellery, watch, and clock repair expertise. If we can’t fix it in-store, we have many technicians who can get the job done!

 A note about our beloved Keith...

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Lichty Sr. Keith owned and operated Williams Jewellers for 60 years. It was his wish and pleasure to pass along the store to his children Kathy and Keith Jr.

Keiths service to the downtown community of St. Catharines will be truly missed. His kindness, generosity, knowledge, and honesty will be what we remember the most.

A true gentlemen and honourable citizen. Rest in Heaven.
